Paint Sprayer - Finishing Operative – Aerospace Engineering - £35500 plus 22.5% shift allowance equivalent to around £43480k per annum

Week One: Earlies Monday – Thursday 06.00 – 14.00, with 30 minutes break from 10.00 to 10.30 - Early finish on a Friday - 12 midday 

Week Two: Lates Monday – Thursday 13.45 – 22.00, with 30 minutes break from 17.00 to 17.30  Friday 11.45 – 16.15, with no break

The Role as a paint sprayer 

As a Paint Spraying Finishing Operative, you’ll apply specialist coatings that play a vital role in the performance and reliability of aerospace components. Working across an impressive on-site finishing plant, you’ll use your technical precision and eye for detail to ensure every component meets exacting standards.

What is a Paint Sprayer's responsibility:

  • Preparing and cleaning component surfaces
  • Applying paint, trimagard, lacquer, primers, topcoats and dry film lubricants using hand-spray equipment
  • Masking and unmasking to engineering drawings/specifications
  • Operating curing ovens and ensuring full batch traceability
  • Inspecting finishes using visual and automated tools, including paint thickness and gloss measurements
  • Carrying out touch-ups and ensuring flawless quality

Essential for a spray painter

  • Proven experience in paint spraying and surface preparation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH requirements
  • Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
