We are recruiting an experienced Wet Treatments Operator to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business in Chelmsford. This permanent position involves carrying out pre-paint chemical treatments on aluminium, stainless steel and titanium aircraft components.

The Role

The Wet Treatments Operator will carry out a variety of surface-treatment processes, including jigging components for chromate conversion and chromic, sulphuric and tartaric sulphuric anodising.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working from job cards, instructions and supporting documentation
  • Jigging aircraft components for chemical treatment processes
  • Carrying out chromate conversion and anodising treatments
  • Manually handling both small and large aircraft components
  • Following all health and safety requirements, including LOLER and PUWER procedures
  • Supporting overtime requirements when needed
  • Developing skills across wet treatments processing and other areas of the business
  • Completing additional duties within your capabilities as directed by the company

Requirements

  • Previous aerospace wet treatments processing experience would be highly advantageous
  • Experience with chromic acid anodising and chromate conversion is particularly desirable
  • Strong work ethic and a self-motivated approach
  • Ability to follow job cards and written instructions accurately
  • Willingness to undertake manual handling duties
  • Flexible, positive and willing to learn additional processes
  • Reliable team player who is prepared to support business targets
