Machinist – Harlow

We are currently seeking an experienced Machinist to join our workshop team in Harlow. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional to work within a busy and well-equipped workshop environment, carrying out repair and machining work to high quality standards.

The Machinist Role

As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating a variety of conventional machine tools to manufacture and repair components in accordance with customer requirements and approved engineering data.

Machinist Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual machine tools including lathes, milling machines, jig borers and grinders.
• Manufacture and repair components to customer specifications and engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering data.
• Remove and install bushings, bearings, cups and liners.
• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on workshop machinery.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Support the workshop with additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Machinist within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Aerospace industry experience is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
• Friday: 07:30 – 12:30

Pay & Benefits

• £17.00 – £19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
• Early finish every Friday.
• Permanent position.
